A Container for the Primal Woman
Art is the medicine. Lineage as map. Tender descent. Wise return.
Writing Like a Madwoman · Twenty-one lessons in two parts
Before you begin
This module is a container for the primal woman in you — the part that has always known how to feel, and is only now being given full permission.
The work moves in two parts. Part One builds the vessel: boundary and time, the felt sense, mindfulness, catharsis, body-mapping and the fertile void, grief, individuation, feelings and the nervous system, and the compassionate witness who carries you back out into your own life. Part Two fills it: trauma and the body, the child and the compassionate witness, feelings and needs, consequence and follow-through, and the slow reclaiming of time, focus, and voice.
This is not performance work, and it is not meant to be finished quickly. It is telling and writing your story from the body, not the head.
“I am so busy figuring what I want I can't feel what I need.” — Hugh Prather
How every lesson moves
The journey
Where the vessel is built.
Where the vessel is filled. Not performance. Not perfection. The body, the wound, the witness, the wild.
Your pace
Some women move through a lesson in a single sitting; others need a week to live inside one page. Let your own nervous system set the rhythm — this is, itself, the first practice of the module. One lesson a week is plenty. This is a lifelong practice, not a race to the last page.
Before you write a single sentence, gather what will support you — anything that lets sound, movement, and mess become part of your process.
Sit quietly. Read once silently and once aloud.
I have been circling the door for years,
hand on the knob, breath held,
telling myself the timing wasn't right.
But the timing is never right
for a woman who is finally ready
to stop asking permission to begin.
So here is my hand on the page instead of the door.
Here is my breath, uncensored.
Here is the first mad, true word.
